Project 1
Form And Function
Form and function are the building blocksn of architectural design, which allows for the creation of complex designs without sacrificing necessary functionality. Although form and function are two distinct aspects of architecture, they work together during the design phase. Form is concerned with the building's external appearance, whereas function is the structure's intended application or mode of operation.
In this project, we investigate the idea of "form follows function," which holds that a structure's form ought to correspond with its intended use. We establish a connection between the forms of various bridge kinds and the functions of common household objects.

Preliminary Design
The goal is to design a bridge and mechanism that allows an object that 30' x 40', to pass through. My design consisted of The Sydney Harbor Bridge combined with the movement of the cookie dough scooper. I was able to reconstruct the bridge while keeping the arch design. The mechanism uses pullies to drag two parts in separate directions and gears to rotate the rod and lift out the road deck.
